Lumineon is a Water-Type Neon Pokémon that is the evolved form of Finneon in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, and it is also one of the Pokemon included in the base game. Players will need to catch or “see” Lumineon to complete their Sinnoh Pokedex and unlock the National Dex upgrade.

However, Lumineon is relatively elusive, as Trainers will either need a special item to catch it or battle a specific NPC to “see” it. Suppose players manage to capture Finneon in Pokémon BDSP. In that case, they can evolve it into Lumineon by leveling it to Level 31, a task quite simple to do, especially with a Lucky Egg.

If players simply wish to “see” Lumineon in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, they can find a Trainer north of Sunyshore City on the watery Route 223. Using Surf, swim up the path until spotting a female Trainer with a ponytail in the water. Speak with her to enter a battle with her Lumineon, resulting in the Pokemon being successfully “seen.”

Alternatively, players can find and catch Finneon using the Good Rod in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and then evolve it into Lumineon. A good spot for Trainers to find an Unevolved Finneon is within Route 220. To get the Good Rod, speak to the Fisherman on the dock in Route 209 east of Hearthome City. He will ask if the player agrees that the Good Rod is “really good.” By answering with “Yes,” players will receive the Good Rod.

Trainers can also catch Lumineon with the Super Rod in Pokemon BDSP, but this fishing rod can only be obtained after acquiring the National Dex. Using the Super Rod, Players can find Lumineon by fishing in Valley Windworks, Route 221, Route 219, Route 218, Route 205, Iron Island, Fuego Ironworks, Canalave City, and Route 220.
