If you’ve been playing Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet for very long, you understand how Tera Type Raid Battles work. For those who don’t, here’s a quick summary that can bring you up to speed. When playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players come across places where they can battle special Tera-type Pokemon, some that possess unique types found nowhere else. These Pokemon are tough and take multiple people to defeat. Well, at least normally. In this case, a recent Tera Type Pokemon, Typhlosion, caused fans trouble with incredibly powerful moves. If you don’t know the meta of the game, Typhlosion actually used to be a relatively weak Pokemon. However, in the last few generations of the game, they received a buff. Add that to the fact that GameFreak gave the flaming starter more health, defense, and a Tera type to pose as an advantage.
Magikarp OHKO vs Typhlosion the Unrivaled

However, it seems there’s no limit to some Pokemon fans’ creativity. Recently, a player proved that Typhlosion wasn’t all that tough by beating a Tera Raid Battle Typhlosion with one of the weakest Pokemon around, Magikarp. Now, it’s no secret by now that the Pokemon community loves trying to get Magikarp to do feats that it really shouldn’t be able to do. People have beaten entire Pokemon games with just one Magikarp. However, Tera Raid Battles are no joke and usually require more than one player to work together to take down. This is especially true with Typhlosion the Unrivaled, a 7-star Tera Raid Battle.
How Did He Take Down Typhlosion, The Unrivaled?
The setup for this Magikarp OH-KO is a deliberate one. While it does require some setup from other Pokemon, the strategy works just fine for Magikarp. First, the player uses Luxray, Samurott, and Sylveon to increase Magikarp’s stats and decrease Typhlosion’s. By using a very long but ultimately effective strategy, Nommable 123 was able to take down the hefty Raid Pokemon with one of the weakest you can get. If you want to do this, you’re welcome to try but just know it’ll take some time. And perhaps a few tries in case something goes wrong.
