Pokémon GO The Best Movesets and Counters for Salamence
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Salamence, the final evolution form of Bagon and Shelgon, is a Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon that serves as a Tier-3 Raid Boss in Pokémon GO. Wielding 23,700 Combat Power, this Hoenn Pokémon can be soloed by a high-level Trainer or be fought with at least two lower-level players. As a Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon, Salamence is resistant to Fighting-, Bug-, Fire-, Water-, Ground-, and Grass-type Moves. On the other hand, this Raid Boss’s dual-type elemental attribute makes it vulnerable to Rock-, Dragon-, Fairy-, and especially Ice-type abilities in Pokémon GO. Therefore, to counter Salamence, Trainers will need to form a Raid party that can utilize these four elements in Pokémon GO.

How To Counter Salamence In Pokémon GO

The best counters for Salamence in Pokémon GO are Shadow Mamoswine, Shadow Weavile, Shadow Mewtwo, and Mega Abomasnow. However, Trainers who do not have these Shadow or Mega Pokémon can use regular unaltered Pokémon with the same countering elements, with Ice being the most effective in combat.
