The Poke-Christmas is coming, and Pokemon Go players will be among the first to enjoy it. After a year bursting with updates and new pocket creatures to catch, this mobile game is wrapping things up with a festive holiday bow and plenty of presents. If you’re unsure about what we’re talking about, we’re referring to the Winter Holiday Part 1 event that’s coming to Pokemon Go. While the event starts next week, Niantic has already unveiled its rewards, tasks, and other event details, so you can start planning your holiday Pokemon-capturing routes ahead of time.

Winter Holiday Part 1 Guide

The Winter Holiday event in Pokemon Go seems to be split into parts, with Part 1 running from December 18 to December 24, starting and ending at 10:00 am local time.

Like previous seasonal events, there are new Pokemon coming, all in different festive outfits, and these are the new ones joining the lineup:

  • Sudowoodo wearing holiday attire.
  • Charjabug wearing holiday attire.
  • Vikavolt wearing holiday attire.

If you’re near a Magnetic Lure Module, you can use the 100 Grubbin candies to evolve holiday Charjabug into holiday Vikavolt.

On top of that, there will also be a higher chance of obtaining Shiny Pichu with a festive hat and Shiny Cubchoo with a holiday ribbon on 7km eggs. Furthermore, the GO Pass: Winter Holiday 2025 will give players certain bonuses, such as:

  • 2× XP from sending Gifts (Tier 1)
  • GO Pass Deluxe: 2× Stardust from opening Gifts (Tier 1)
  • Additional items may be rewarded from opening Gifts (Tier 2)
  • GO Pass Deluxe: 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period (Tier 2)
  • 50% more XP for winning Raid Battles (Tier 3)
  • GO Pass Deluxe: 2× XP from catching Pokemon (Tier 3)

For the raid-enjoyers out there, you’ll be able to find holiday Sudowoodo, Hisuian Avalugg, and holiday Charjabug on 3-star raids. And yes, you can get them in their shiny variant if luck’s on your side.
