Leader's Crest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Similar to the Metal Coat or King’s Rock, the Leader’s Crest is an Evolution Item in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that Trainers will need to evolve a specific species of Pokémon in Paldea. More specifically, players must acquire this rare object to evolve the Sword Blade Bisharp into the Big Blade Kingambit. Typically, Evolution Items can be found in the open world of the Paldean map, earned by completing a Battle League Rep’s challenge, or purchased from a Delibird Presents Store. On the other hand, the Leader’s Crest is notably rare, as it can only be acquired from a specific Wild Pokémon.

Finding the Leader’s Crest in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Leader's Crest Location in Scarlet and Violet

To get the Leader’s Crest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must find and catch a Wild Bisharp in Paldea. However, just a plain Bisharp will not do. Players need to encounter a Wild Bisharp that is leading a group of Pawniards. Only Bisharps with multiple Pawniards can drop the Leader’s Crest Evolution Item.

Bisharp’s habitat can be found within North Province (Area Two), the region north of the coastal city of Levincia. If players investigate the valley south of the province’s Area One lake, they will discover a sizeable bamboo forest. Plenty of Wild Bisharps can be found wandering the forests. Trainers must only confront the Bisharps accompanied by Pawniards. Once defeated, these Wild Bisharps have a high chance of dropping the Leader’s Crest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. To defeat Bisharp, players must understand this Sword Blade Pokémon’s weaknesses and best counters. As a Dark- and Steel-type pocket monster, Bisharp is highly vulnerable to Fighting-type Moves. As a result, Lucario, Hariyama, and Pawmot make excellent combatants to counter Bisharp.

After players have acquired the Leader’s Crest in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, simply giving it to Bisharp will not result in its evolution. The evolution method involves having one’s Bisharp hold the Leader’s Crest and defeat three wild Bisharps that are also holding the Leader’s Crest. This procedure might be moderately tricky since Bisharp cannot counter itself. Nevertheless, players must persevere and use the resources they have to strengthen Bisharp to defeat other Leader’s Crest-wielding Sword Blade Pokémon. Once three of these special Bisharps have been defeated, the player’s Leader’s Crest-holding Bisharp will evolve into Kingambit.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
