One of the earliest 3D Pokemon Games that first graced our glorious CRT screens was Pokemon Stadium. The title has been out of commission for a while, but it’s finally making its way to Nintendo’s portable gaming console this month. Yep, Pokemon Stadium’s release date for the Nintendo Switch has been confirmed.
Pokemon Stadium Nintendo Switch Release Date
Back in 2000, Pokemon’s battle arena title came to the N64. The title included every Pokemon from Red, Blue, and Yellow and offered a plethora of multiplayer and single-player modes.
As for Pokemon Stadium’s release date, the title will make its way to the Nintendo Switch on April 12, 2023, as a part of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.
“In Pokémon Stadium, you can battle it out solo with your chosen team of six Pokémon across four tournaments in Stadium mode or run it back against Kanto’s elite Trainers in Gym Leader Castle,”
“Winning in either of these modes will secure a spot for your champion team in Victory Palace, but completing both modes will unlock a final battle to challenge even the ultimate Trainer.” – Nintendo
You’ll need an Online Switch membership to access the title on April 12, 2023. In addition, the membership allows subscribers to access a multitude of NES, SNES, and GameBoy games.
Players can only access N64, Sega Mega Drive, Genesis, and GameBoy Advance libraries if they own the Expansion Pass membership tier.
Nintendo also extended a partnership with mobile firm DeNA which is now in effect. The two companies will work together to create new Nintendo Entertainment Systems, services, and devices. Nintendo owns 80% of this new subsidiary division.
