When Pokken Tournament was announced way back in August 2014, we got a nice little teaser trailer featuring a few Pokemon we could have probably guessed would be in it. Speculations were rampant on whether all the fighters were going to be humanoid shaped or if we’d get some more beastly variations.
Fears were put to rest with the news of titular mascot, Pikachu, and the legendary Suicune were to join in on the battling.
Then, on April 25, during an even called Niconico Chokaigi 2015, the team behind Pokken revealed that the Shadow Pokemon, Gengar will enter the ring.
Theories run wild when this particular specter pops into the room. Is it the spirit of a poisoned pokemon? Maybe it’s the sentient shadow of the fairy-type, Clefable? No matter the wild guesses, this bruiser brings a heck of a lot to the table. By claw, foot, tongue and shadows, Gengar is set to mix up the Tournament in the best of ways. It will even get its Mega Evolution. Check out the trailer below and get pumped for some mischievous action.
Pokken Tournament is going to hit Japanese arcades later this Summer.
