What began as a routine Uber ride in Texas turned into a wholesome moment when a passenger recognized the driver and struck up a conversation about confidence and laughter. Leena is an Uber driver (or ridezvibez) who shares inspiring conversations she has with her passengers. These videos have made her incredibly popular on TikTok and within the Houston area.
A recent video begins with the Texas Uber driver pulling over to pick up a rider who instantly freaks out, “I know you!” The excitement is genuine as he exclaims, “Ain’t that crazy!” She asks him, “Did you ever think you were going to get me?” His response, “I get Uber all the time. Never no famous driver!” He proceeds to tell her, “I be seeing you everywhere. I’m not lying.” This is a reference to her TikTok popularity. She shares that “there’s literally people in Houston going crazy right now saying that they’re like trying to me.”
The Texas Uber driver is shocked when the rider shares, “I am an introvert.” He adds, “I don’t like people at all.” He explains that it’s more than he doesn’t like talking to people. Leena asks, “Is it because of how people are?” This question sparks a deeper conversation, with the rider opening up about how it’s the vibes he gets and how he’s “in [his] head a lot.” He clarifies that he worries about “what the other person is thinking” and what he’s saying, specifically if he’s “saying the right stuff.”
Texas Uber Driver Connects With Rider
She furthers the conversation with a question about whether he worries about people being offended by what he says. The rider agrees, saying that he doesn’t know “how to articulate [his] words” and “not be so blunt.” The Texas Uber driver agrees, “That sometimes it’s not even about what you’re saying, maybe just the tone.” This statement resonates with him as he says, “I already got a kind of deep voice,” and people seem to misunderstand.
The Texas Uber driver describes their generation “as a lot more sensitive.” This is something she finds “so annoying” and explains that she “can definitely take a joke.” To her, “laughter is the best medicine” and is something that bonds people together. The rider shares a similar perspective about being the subject of a joke, though states, “You better be laughing when it’s my turn.”
The Texas Uber driver continues with, “the person that’s highly defensive, it’ll make you feel stressed.” The two agree that people need to be “comfortable in [their] own skin and confident in [themselves] that [they] can take a joke.” The conversation concludes with her giving him advice, “You gotta talk to people like you already know them.” She warns him not to cross the line, but to “make them feel comfortable in a fun way.”
