Every year, a certain website called Pornhub– which we are not familiar with, releases its year-end statistics. It turns out some gamers prefer their “alone time” on certain devices, usually PlayStations or Xbox for added convenience (and presumably a larger view). In 2024, however, PlayStation has dominated the scene, with the majority of the game console porn viewership coming from either the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.
The report came from the aforementioned porn site itself and was spotted by some eagle-eyed users in ResetEra. Pornhub tallies its viewership origins via a pie chart, and based on the 2024 statistics, 60 percent of people who watch Pornhub through game consoles were using the PlayStation 5.
35 percent were from PlayStation 4, and only a relatively minuscule 4.9 percent came from Xbox game consoles.
An interesting insight is how the Xbox owners who watched Pornhub dropped from 16.7 percent in 2023 to less than 5 percent in 2024, meaning the PlayStation continues to win the hearts and minds of gamers and ‘gooners’ alike. Perhaps Xbox users simply lost much of their privacy.
How are They Doing This?
Some PlayStation owners questioned the authenticity of Pornhub’s statistics, of course. The PS5 doesn’t exactly have an official browser. However, you can apparently open web browsing links through PlayStation messages and use those as makeshift browsers. It’s a lot of effort, if you ask me, but not outrageous as far as gamer behavior goes.
One thing to note about the Pornhub statistics is that there’s no exact number published. So it’s not clear exactly how many game console users choose to watch porn on their gaming devices.
For all we know, the pie chart percentage could be representing 1,000 or 100,000 people. Surprisingly enough, Pornhub also mentioned that a tiny percentage of users are still watching from the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita (do you guys not have phones?).
