The Postal games are no stranger to controversy. The over-the-top, violent games have been the subject of debate for some time. Postal 2 has been mentioned in court proceedings, and do you remember Postal III? Unlike the rest of the games in the series, Postal III was not developed by Running With Scissors. This proved to be a misstep for the series, as Postal III is widely considered a bad game. After the third game flopped, RWS jumped back on board to develop the fourth game in the series. Postal 4 has been in Early Access for a while, but now the wait for the full release is almost over. Running With Scissors has announced that Postal 4: No Regerts will release on April 20.
In today’s announcement, Running With Scissors had this to say about Postal 4‘s time in Early Access:
“Across several meaty updates in Early Access, POSTAL 4: No Regerts has introduced a load of wacky mechanics, weapons, quests, traversal tools, quality-of-life features, and more, making this 1.0 release the definitive modern POSTAL experience. POSTAL 4: No Regerts stands as an ode and testament to what has made the series beloved, scorned, hated, and appreciated for 25 years.”
The full release of Postal 4 will give players five days to go postal
The Postal series thrives on crude humor and extreme violence, and Postal 4: No Regerts is no exception. Players spend one week in the shoes of the game’s protagonist, The Postal Dude. The game allows you to go about your week peacefully, but there are plenty of opportunities for chaos. Today’s announcement promises plenty to do in the town of Edensin, including launching NPCs from a massive slingshot or fighting “flesh-eating hillbillies.”
If that sounds like your cup of tea and you can’t wait for the full release, then you can still pick up the game in Early Access on Steam ahead of the full release on April 20. Postal 4: No Regerts is coming to Steam, GOG and Greenman Gaming.
