The Predator is about to put Wolverine’s invincibility to the test. Marvel announced a new limited series from Benjamin Percy that sees the alien relentlessly hunt down the clawed mutant. The aptly titled Predator vs. Wolverine features four issues of a cat-and-mouse game that has lasted for much of Wolverine’s Marvel existence. Joining Percy for this new venture is a slew of all-star artist talent that will bring this bitter rivalry to life in September.
Predator vs. Wolverine
This limited series comes from Benjamin Percy, who is known for his work with the ferocious Wolverine in the character’s ongoing solo series. However, now Percy is adding a bloodthirsty alien killing machine into the mix. This series will show a long history between the Predator and Wolverine that will contain some of Logan’s fiercest untold battles. It features a Yautja (Predator) seeking out the greatest prey in the universe. Of course, this leads it to Weapon X. What ensues is a lifelong rivalry that takes the pair from the Canadian wilderness to Madripoor and everywhere in between.
Meanwhile, joining Percy for this undertaking is a wealth of talented artists. They include Greg Land, Andrea Di Vito, Ken Lashley, Kei Zama, and more. These artists help bring the battles between these two powerful forces to life on the page. As the Predator and Wolverine battle it out from the wilds to the streets, they will destroy anything in their way on the path to victory.
A Perfect Fit
Speaking with Marvel, Percy shared why he may be the perfect writer for the job:
“I’m not going to say I was born to write this crossover… but sometimes the universe reveals why you were created. I am a child of the eighties. I cannot tell you how many times I watched Predator, just as I cannot tell you how many Wolverine comics I have read, because that would be like telling you how many breaths I’ve taken or cheeseburgers I’ve eaten.”
He continued to share that the mythos of both of these characters is “ingrained so deeply they might as well be strands of DNA.”
Furthermore, Percy went on to detail a little of what this limited series will look like. The battle between the Predator and Wolverine will span decades. Each learns to adapt to the other and grows deadlier over time. Neither of them will have a second to breathe as it becomes a relentless race to see who can kill the other first.
