In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a woman who is nine months pregnant says her recent food delivery left her shaken after she discovered a live bug inside one of the boxes. According to her, she and her partner had placed a late-night order from Papa John’s over the phone. During the call, they were told that the restaurant didn’t have any in-house drivers available at that hour, so a DoorDash courier would pick up and deliver their food instead. At first, nothing seemed out of the ordinary until the moment they placed the pizza boxes down on their carpeted floor, and something inside moved.
The Discovery That Sent Her Running Outside
When they set the boxes on the carpet, the pregnant woman and her companion immediately noticed an insect crawling inside one of the boxes. The moment she realized what she was looking at, she panicked, grabbed the boxes with both hands, and ran out of her apartment while her partner rushed to open the front door.
Now outside, the woman held the boxes out in front of her and headed straight to a dumpster to toss them. As she hurried along the sidewalk, with her hands trembling because of the cold, she rambled that a passing car might think she was acting strange but she didn’t care because she basically wanted the bug out of her life immediately. Once she reached a safe spot, she placed the two Papa John’s boxes on the ground and opened the pizza box to see if she could find the bug she saw crawling in the package before she rushed outside.
A Wasted Order
Inside the box was a freshly baked pizza with golden, melted cheese, and there, right at the edge of the crust, was a small brown bug moving in tight circles. Clearly disgusted, the woman zoomed in on the bug with her phone camera and said she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. At one point, the insect even tried to burrow into the side of the pizza dough as she hovered over it.
Later, the couple contacted Papa John’s, but according to the woman, the restaurant said it had no control over which DoorDash driver picked up the food and could not identify the dasher who handled the order. She also said she did not want to publicly expose the driver because he was simply doing his job, but she felt the situation was unacceptable, especially given how close she was to her due date. Her biggest fear was what could have happened if she hadn’t noticed the bug in time.
What Netizens Are Saying About the Delivery Incident in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Once the video was shared online, people flooded the comments with their reactions, many of which echoed her disgust and fear. One person said the clip made them “literally get goose bumps” as soon as they saw the bug. Someone else wrote, “Oh my goodness! That’s terrible, sorry you had to go through that pregnant and all!!”
Others suggested where the bug might have come from. A netizen commented that it most likely “came from the car it was dashed in,” while someone else believed it could have originated either from “the driver’s car or the restaurant.” Another person warned her to double-check her surroundings, saying, “Maybe he already in ur apartment. but yep that’s a bed bug.”
Meanwhile, one user insisted, “It look like a tick,” and another agreed, adding that they believed it was a tick rather than a bedbug because “you will rarely ever see a bedbug without a spouse or cousin or many cousins.”
