A pregnant woman in Pennsylvania arrived at the hospital ready to give birth to her child. To the shock of those who have delivered babies before, the woman in question appeared nonchalant, chill, and even managed to text right before welcoming her newborn.

Fear is normal but I promise not every birth experience is full of trauma and screams. Speaking this version of childbirth into existence for you.💪 #childbirth #laboranddelivery #givingbirth #pregnancy #thirdbaby

Jackie, also known as slayathome_, shared the moments before her child’s birth on TikTok. She is a content creator who shares lifestyle videos alongside her family and the occasional egg-collecting from her hen coop. Her delivery clip garnered 2.2 million views, 299,400 likes, and close to 1,600 comments in less than a day.

The Pennsylvania woman, already lying in a hospital bed, was moments away from once again becoming a mother. With a towel on her head, she was ready to do some pushing, but thanks to an epidural, things were significantly less dramatic than what some might expect from a vaginal birth.

‘Not Even Pushing’

Still, childbirth appeared to be an easy task for Jackie, as the baby started to come out, to the excitement of everyone in the room. Jackie, meanwhile, said, “I’m not even pushing.” Moments later, with a cup of ice chips resting on her left arm, Jackie grabbed her phone and started texting. She explained in the comments that she was attempting to contact her husband, who missed their child’s birth.

The baby’s head started to come out, and Jackie did seem to be in some minor discomfort. Still, she kept it together nicely, and even kept the energy of the room up and going. She said, “It’s a surprise gender. Everybody, take your guesses.”

The Pennsylvania woman pushed, and after a 10-second count, the baby family came out with a final push. Emotional, the mother welcomed her child into her arms. It was a boy, and Jackie, a mother after all, said, “I knew it.”

Reactions

Viewers reacted to the clip in awe, as many were left perplexed by how smoothly the childbirth went. One said, “What was your EXACT prayer?!” Another one commented, “How do I tell my doctor this is my birth plan???”

Others took notice of her phone usage mid-delivery, with one writing, “Not you just casually texting or scrolling during it.” Finally, some attributed the “peaceful” childbirth to the powers of medicine, with one adding, “This is what an epidural looks like.”
