President Donald Trump is once again facing backlash from online critics over his controversial actions. The politician made waves on X after a video of his recent conversation with reporters sparked outrage. In the clip, the POTUS singled out Shira Stein, a correspondent for San Francisco Chronicle Washington. He called her out for wearing a face mask after the reporter questioned his plans to return education control to the States.
“You know, I haven’t seen a mask in so long! You’re wearing a mask! So nice of you!” Trump quipped instead of answering Stein’s question. “I haven’t seen anybody wearing a mask in a long time. It’s good. You feel more comfortable, right?” He added. Stein confirmed she was okay before pressing him about her query. Trump’s reaction got X users contemplating his reasoning, with some wondering if he was genuinely surprised or avoiding the question.
Critics Slam Donald Trump as Childish Over His Face Mask Comment

One X user implied Trump needed to grow up, claiming, “If you care about other people wearing face masks, you’re a sniveling crybaby. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.” Another agreed, writing, “He just can’t help himself—always has to make everything weird and condescending.” A third noted they could never understand why people like Trump were concerned about how others dressed. The criticisms continued with someone wondering if the president wanted another round of COVID. A fellow critic labeled him “a weirdo” while an X user contemplated whether Trump was being “a d-ck” or not.
This isn’t the first time the politician has called out reporters for wearing face masks in the Oval Office. OK! Magazine reported he was far more aggressive with the press for wearing face coverings around him in 2020. He once tried to force Jeff Mason, a journalist for Reuters, to remove his mask because his speech was “muffled.” Trump repeatedly asked him to take it off, but Mason refused and chose to speak louder to the president’s displeasure. The recent face mask drama follows Hillary Clinton’s reaction to Trump’s administration leaking war plans to a journalist. We covered the story, reporting the former Secretary of State addressed the situation on X.
