Despite the belief that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had plans for a UK return in motion, evidence from the secret meeting with the royal family patriarch’s aides suggests otherwise, according to insiders.
Harry and Meghan Won’t Ditch California For the UK
Speaking to People, an insider debunked the claims, clarifying that the duo were happy with their lives in California and had no plans to leave. The insider, however, acknowledged that the secret royal peace summit was indeed a “good first step” toward a royal reconciliation, adding, “It is always better to be talking.”
While Harry and Meghan had no plans to abandon California for the UK, the duke still has his home country in the book. On how he planned to fit his country in the picture with or without a royal reconciliation, another source explained that the Duke would keep up his visits to the UK, selflessly supporting his charitable causes and patronages despite the royal drama.
This comes after British journalist and Broadcaster Dan Wutton suggested that Prince Harry intended to cast Meghan Markle aside to boost his chances of reconciling with his royal family. Citing royal expert Charlotte Griffith’s claims that the royals would only consider a reconciliation without the duchess in the picture, the Broadcaster noted that Harry and his pals were prepared to do the needful. Wootton cited this plan for a divorce as the reason the 40-year-old embarked on his recent trip to Angola without his wife by his side.
Royal Fans React to Report of Harry and Meghan’s Potential Divorce
Wootton reasoned that given Meghan’s efforts to follow in the footsteps of the late Princess Diana, she would not have easily passed off the opportunity to walk through the mine field beside her husband, as the late princess did decades back. This theory faced scrutiny from royal fans, who believe the Duchess had a firmer hold on her prince charming than Wootton gave her credit for. One royal fan fired,
“I call nonsense. First she’s NEVER accompanied him to Angola before (2019) for this PR Photog session. And everyone knows the spin— ‘the palace Forced a wedge in the marriage. They made him choose. We were in love. Blah blah blah.’ Then suddenly they reconcile. And he’s in. He’s now out. He needs to stay out.”
Another added,
“What’s the damn point of promising to divorce Meghan? Does he not have the spine to file for it? Or is he trying to finesse his father promising to divorce Meghan, get some money and go right back to her? He sounds absolutely insane and so out of touch right now with all these puff pieces.”
A third opined,
“She doesn’t like to leave her creature comforts. She has to weigh the amount of exposure she’ll gain against her disinterest/ physical discomfort. Angola isn’t macabre enough for her.”
Some also pointed out that while Prince Harry may successfully “fool” his dad, King Charles, into reconciling and welcoming him back to the fold, he would have a hard time breaking his brother’s shield. Since the royal fallout, the brothers have noticeably kept their distance from each other, barely communicating even during their encounter at their late Uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral. In fact, reports claim the monarch kept the royal peace summit a secret from his older son, who, in turn, felt blindsided after finding out about it thanks to the leaked photos. Ultimately, whether or not the Sussexes had a hand in that leak, the chances of a reconciliation became even slimmer, with a frustrated William putting his foot down against it.
