Despite the Sussexes’ departure from the royal family, the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William has been explored as the former refuses to remain silent. Here’s Harry’s chat with Stephen Colbert.
Princess Diana was the People’s Princess, and although balancing royal life with her expectations was difficult, she was loved from far and wide. Defiant, yet regal and courteous, she had a gold heart, using her platform to touch lives through acts of humanity.
The world suffered a heavy blow after her untimely death in 1997. Many, including strangers, celebrities, but most importantly, her two sons, were hurt. Following his exit from the royal family, the Duke of Sussex has, in no small way, recounted his time as a royal and his relationship with everyone, including his deceased mother.
While his new book “Spare” reaches bookstores, he sat with Stephen Colbert, speaking of what Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship would be if Princess Diana were still alive.

Prince Harry and Prince William Might Have Handled Things Better, Only if….
Since abdicating his role as a senior royal member, Prince Harry and Prince William have had a rigid relationship. While William, Prince of Wales, has refused to comment on it, maintaining the “silence” status quo of the royals, his younger brother refuses to be mute.
During an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” which coincided with the day his “Spare,” tell-all memoir was released, he talked about his mother. Following Colbert’s question on what choices Prince Harry and Prince William would have made with their mother present, he said:
“We wouldn’t have got to this moment. It’s impossible to say where we would be now — where those relationships would be now — but there is no way that the distance between my brother and I would be the same.”
Prince Harry and Prince William have been without their mother for more than twenty years. However, they experienced guidance from their father, King Charles, and grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth.
Yet this love did not stop Harry from reaching out to his mother for help. The 38-year-old claimed his mother helped William set up his life, and he wanted to enjoy the same privilege. Harry continued:
“And I have felt her more in the last two years than I have in the last 30.”
Though feeling the deceased has come easily, such smoothness has not been enjoyed between Harry and his relatives. In his interview with Anderson Cooper, the Duke confessed that he had not spoken to his brother or father in a while, noting that they had refused to bury the hatchet.
