Prince Harry is reportedly growing paranoid about returning to the UK. The Duke of Sussex is allegedly so worried about his security that he’s taken extreme measures to protect his safety while visiting his home country. Since leaving the royal family in 2020, Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children no longer have access to the family’s level of security while they are in Britain. This has been a huge problem for King Charles’ youngest son, who continues to fight for the UK government to find his security.
Royal author Tom Quinn reveals that Prince Harry has become “completely obsessed” with his security while visiting the UK. He’s been formed to stay at hotels and with friends, which has made him so paranoid that he’s opted to wear disguises while out and about, per The Mirror.
Prince Harry Is Going to Extremes To Protect His Privacy in the UK
“Harry hates the idea of hotels — last time he stayed in a hotel on a visit to the UK he had to leave and arrive virtually in disguise. The problems are even bigger if he plans to stay with friends, as he’s convinced he is always being watched by the media and that they will find out where he’s staying,” Quinn stated.
Harry has returned to the UK on multiple occasions since exiting the royal family. However, his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lillibet, have not been back. The Duke of Sussex has maintained that he doesn’t feel safe having his family in the country. Especially if they don’t have the proper level of security.
“The UK is central to the heritage of my children and a place I want them to feel at home, as much as where they live at the moment in the United States. That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe when they are on UK soil. I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too,” Harry previously said of the security threat in the UK.
It remains to be seen if Prince Harry will ever feel comfortable bringing Meghan Markle and their children to the UK. If not, the rift between he and the royal family will likely continue to grow as they’ll not spend much time together.
