Father’s Day is right around the corner, but all is not well with Prince Harry and King Charles. It’s no secret that the royal father-son duo has been feuding for years after Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle, but things have only gotten worse after Charles took the throne and was diagnosed with cancer not long after. The problems don’t stop with Charles, either – there’s a growing rift between Harry and his older brother William, Prince of Wales. Between the two brothers, Prince William is the one with the crown’s public support, and Prince Harry’s feeling shunned as Father’s Day approaches.
Father’s Day Is a “Nightmare” For Prince Harry and King Charles
The rift between Prince Harry and the Royal Family is at least half a decade old, dating back to when Harry married Meghan Markle. In 2020, Harry and Meghan made an official announcement that they were stepping down as senior royals and moved to California. On paper, it’s not hard to see why there’s a rift between Prince Harry and his brother William; William is the brother who stayed behind the crown while Harry walked away. That was only magnified as Queen Elizabeth II died. Charles took the throne, and William become Prince of Wales, heir to the throne.

“King Charles’ birthday and Father’s Day are both a nightmare for Harry. He knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father…It’s easy to forget that Harry really does love his father, he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support William when there is a family dispute.”

Prince Harry will reportedly send his father “a warm message” on Father’s Day, despite the troubled relationship between the two. Will this finally be an improvement in the royal relationship department, or will the pattern of snubs and bad blood continue? It’s a waiting game at this point.
