Prince Harry is reportedly eager for King Charles to visit his Montecito home in 2026 to spend time with his children, Archie and Lilibet. The Duke of Sussex has not seen his father since Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, and friends say he hopes a US visit could finally reunite the family.
Prince Harry Hopes for a Family Reunion with King Charles
Harry is said to be “hoping that the King will take time out of his busy schedule to spend time with Archie, six, and Lilibet, four,” according to sources cited by The Sun. The Duke has long been unable to travel with his children due to the removal of his taxpayer-funded armed police protection in the UK.
However, a recent victory may change that. “It’s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is now nailed on for Harry,” friends say. The reinstatement of his round-the-clock armed protection could encourage Harry to finally bring his children to the UK, or even make a family visit easier in the US.
A Hope for Bonding
The King’s health has also added a new dimension to the potential reunion. Since being diagnosed with cancer in February 2024, Charles has recently described his recovery as a “personal blessing,” suggesting he may soon have more time and energy to spend with his youngest grandchildren.
A source revealed Harry’s heartfelt plea:
“Harry has made it clear that he would love his dad to come and visit him and the family. He knows that they are strained, but he has mentioned several times a hope that his father can have a relationship with his grandchildren.”
With the reinstatement of his security detail and Charles’ improved health, the pieces appear to be falling into place. The Duke of Sussex and his children may soon enjoy the family connection they’ve long been missing.
