It’s been over four years since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the US, leaving behind their life as proper royals in the UK. Since then, a lot has changed, including Prince Harry’s relationship with his family and close friends. It’s clear why King Charles and Prince William have no desire to see their wayward family member, but not even the Duke’s closest friends from the past want to visit him. And the main reason is Harry’s wife — Meghan Markle.
According to royal expert Tom Quinn, the Mirror reports that “the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.” In other words, the ex-royal misses his home, his family, and his friends, specifically those he studied and served in the military with.

Needless to say, the mother of Megxit has more infamy than popularity among the public due to her mishandling of Kate Middleton’s cancer and endless ‘playing the victim’ act. Therefore, it’s little wonder why Harry’s friends do not wish to see either him or his wife. Markle’s lack of a positive image also causes her to worry for her safety, which is why “she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential.”
Quinn states that “Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives,” as it’s impossible for her to get along with The Royal Family. The rift between the Sussexes and the royal fold is too immense for there to be any co-existing in the same living space, aka the Palace. Likewise, Harry’s friends want nothing to do with him unless something drastic changes with Meghan or she leaves the picture.
