Recently, Prince Harry attempted to get in contact with his father, King Charles. His demands? Give back Meghan Markle her royal title as “Her Royal Highness” in exchange for forgiveness from his own wayward son. It’s ironic, seeing how everyone universally sees Harry and Meghan as the villains of the Royal Family drama, not the family they left behind. Now, Harry is reportedly trying to go behind his father’s back and reach out to the future King of England, Prince William.
For years, Prince Harry has had very limited means to contact his family and allegedly doesn’t even know what’s going on behind the scenes, like when King Charles was diagnosed with cancer. But now, he’s looking to amend all wrongdoings, the wrongdoings of which he claims are not his own, but his family’s. According to journalist Neil Sean, Prince Harry has had his communications team send Prince William a handwritten letter, which reportedly is a ‘truce’ of sorts with all the drama. Harry is willing to let the past stay in the past if his older brother agrees to do the same.
As anyone would imagine, this likely isn’t a heartfelt reach-out from one brother to another. Instead, Sean proposes that it’s just another means for Prince Harry, specifically his wife, Meghan Markle, to regain the favor of the Palace. The Duke of Sussex’s reputation has already been in the dirt for quite a while and hasn’t been getting much better. On the other hand, Meghan’s prestige has taken a nosedive with her failing brand, Netflix show, and other ventures she’s pouring all her money and effort into. If Harry can somehow get back on board with the Royal Family’s support, then maybe, somehow, Meghan’s luck might start to fare in a more positive light.
An overwhelming majority of Royal followers believe that Prince Harry’s attempt to get Prince William on his side via a private letter is not going to change anything. “Just like a narcissist to tell someone when they should get over what they did to them!” remarks a Reddit user. Another points out how Harry doesn’t mean to say ‘let us move on,’ but rather “He’s saying ‘YOU must move on past my shit behaviour oh and btw I won’t move past demanding you call my wife HRH lol.'” Many believe that Meghan is behind Harry’s attempt at a truce and would be ideal timing, seeing how he’s back in the UK currently to commemorate the anniversary of the late Queen’s death.
That all being said, Harry obviously has accountability to take regarding all the mending that needs to be done between him and the Royal Family. But as one commenter ironically puts it, “she’s the one who needs to apologize,” referring to how Meghan’s making her husband do all the PR work while she manages her ventures back in the States.
