Princess Charlotte takes on Wimbledon the royal way, reflecting age-appropriate charm from her nails to her stunning dress. The little princess joined her parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and brother Prince George on Sunday, July 13, to watch Italy’s Jannik Sinner defeat Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in the gentlemen’s singles finals. She joined the royal squad in the royal box, looking glamorous as she cheered for her favorite player throughout the game, a cooling fan in hand.
The 10-year-old carried herself with such grace and elegance, giving off her juvenile innocence with a balanced hint of maturity. The Princess’s grown-up look has since caused a stir online, with three attributes from her Sunday appearance at Centre Court especially standing out.
Charlotte Looked Chic in a Symbolic Bespoke Dress
For the occasion, the preteen donned a stunning white midi dress sporting navy-trimmed ruffles on the bodice. The dress was designed by Sarah Burton, who famously designed Kate Middleton’s wedding dress in 2011 during her stint with the British brand Alexander McQueen.
Princess Charlotte rocked the outfit with grace, pairing it with white Mary Jane flats, a Pandora charm bracelet, and half-up braids with a bow matching her dress’ trimmings. She also threw on her sunglasses on occasion, a welcome accessory in the 81-degree weather. The ensemble, which seamlessly complemented her mom’s royal blue dress, marked a notable transformation from her usual, more juvenile wardrobe, acknowledging her evolution into a preteen.
The Princess Had a Royal First

Further complementing her tween vibes, Princess Charlotte shocked the world by stepping out with perfectly manicured nails. She rocked bubblegum pink nails, which stood out as the little royal cheered during the games or made other hand gestures. The fashion addition marked the 10-year-old’s first time attending a public event sporting nail polish.
While Charlotte’s polished nails may pose questions about what is considered appropriate by royal standards, experts have clarified that her manicure broke no royal protocol. Olive & June founder Sarah Gibson Tuttle praised the princess’ nail polish as “timeless and royal appropriate,” noting that it met the “pretty, polished, and perfectly manicured” standards upheld by other royal women.
An Admirable Wimbledon Streak
Interestingly, Princess Charlotte’s appearance at the gentlemen’s singles finals marked her third time in a row at the Wimbledon Championships, making it more remarkable. The 10-year-old first attended the tennis tournament in June 2023, looking graceful in a blue floral dress alongside her parents and older brother, Prince George.
One year after her Wimbledon debut, the princess graced the event again in 2024, this time, accompanying Kate as she made her second notable public appearance amid her 2024 cancer battle. The two attended the men’s singles final that year, with Charlotte cheerfully rooting for her mom as she received a standing ovation from the crowd.
While her third Wimbledon appearance this year offered no such elaborate welcome, the mother-daughter duo shared a sweet moment at the event, caught on camera. The notable moment saw the young princess fanning her mom with her hand fan in an attempt to ward off the heat in the scorching 81-degree temperatures. In response to her daughter’s sweet gesture, Kate smiled affectionately before asking her to stop. Photographer Karwai Tang, who captured the moment, described it as “a lovely interaction.” Even at such a young age, Princess Charlotte has continually proven herself to be thoughtful and charismatic, both admirable qualities for the future Princess Royal.
