Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have found themselves involved in The Royal Family feud. The estrangement between Prince William and Prince Harry has caused many family members to choose sides. While the sisters have remained close to their cousin Harry and his wife Meghan Markle since the couple’s royal exit in 2020. However, with the ladies stepping in to help with royal duties, their relationship with the couple has changed.
Beatrice and Eugenie always had a close relationship with their cousin Prince Harry growing up. Even after he and Meghan moved to California, Harry kept in touch with his cousins. But now there’s been a shift in the group’s dynamic.
According to Express UK, a source reveals the sisters haven’t “communicated with the Sussexes for quite a while now.” The insider went on to say that the cousins “are nowhere near as close as they once were.“
Beatrice and Eugenie’s recent royal appearance alongside Prince William had them rethinking their priorities. “Beatrice and Eugenie have firmly pledged their allegiance to the royal family,” the source stated.
Another report from GB News, says with the family’s health issues played a part in the allegiance. King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnoses had the princesses stepping in to offer their support.
They’re very fond of their cousin and their uncle, and they want to do everything they can to support them. And they believe in the institution they grew up in.
One of the sister’s first royal duties was attending a garden party with William at Buckingham Palace back in May. For Beatrice and Eugenie, they were glad to be there for William.
Bea and Eugenie can’t imagine what William is going through right now, and it was an honor for them to give him some support. The York sisters were determined not to let him down.
While the princesses closeness with the Royal Family appears to have created distance with Harry and Meghan, an insider told Express that’s not true. “There’s still a friendship there, but it’s not like the close family bond they had before Harry moved to America.”
Like all families, the bond between relatives can change. Beatrice and Eugenie have their priorities, just like Harry and Meghan have theirs. While they might not communicate as much as they used to, deep down the cousins still care for each other.
