To celebrate 10 years of PS Plus Sony will be giving subscribers 3 PlayStation games in July, instead of the usual 2. What’s more, these games have now been announced. The question is, with such a milestone will they be special? Take a second to guess what they could be before you skip ahead.

Without further adieu, let’s see if you guessed right. The July 2020 PS Plus games are, as follows:

  • Erica
  • NBA 2K20
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider

As always, these games are bound to delight some fans and disappoint others. Most months I find myself treated to games I already own, but this month is a clean sweep for me, as I don’t own a single one. No matter who is talking, it has to be said that Rise of the Tomb Raider is a pretty big game for subscribers to receive. It wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we loved it. You can read our review here where we said it was a joy to play.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games - July 2020

I’m a little surprised that the other games don’t celebrate Sony’s history in light of the 10-year milestone. That said, both titles aren’t exactly poor either. With NBA 2K20 you pretty much know what you’re getting (Basketball), but in case you don’t, you can check out our review here. Let’s just say we weren’t as complementary to this one.

The final PS Plus game for July is a bit more of a curio. We didn’t even review it, but by all accounts, the narrative-driven game Erica is quite fun.

As I’ve said already, these games won’t be for everyone, and some of you may even own all three, but be sure to let us know your thoughts on July’s PS Plus titles in the comments. If you are disappointed, there’s always Games with Gold.

July’s PS Plus titles will be available to download from July 7th to August 3rd.
