It’s been almost 4 months since the last PS4 firmware update, but tomorrow will see the release of version 3.50 (codenamed MUSASHI) which is set to include so neat new features, as well as more of the expected stability improvements. Among the included features are the ability to appear offline and an exciting expansion to the current Remote Play feature, allowing users to stream games to their PC or Mac.

New Social Features
As well as the aforementioned Appear Offline addition, users are now able to set notifications that trigger when a person on your friends list comes online as well as create Events to organise gaming sessions with friends and any communities they are a part of. Play Together makes it even easier for members of a Party to team up in their favourite online games by allowing all members to see what games other Party members are playing, and a dedicated Play Together button right in the Party menu for quick joining.
Other System Improvements
Being able to stream to your Mac or PC within your own home seems like the biggest addition here, giving you more control over when and where you play your favourite PS4 games. Currently supported on both PC (Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 and later) and Mac (OS X 10.10 and OS X 10.11) and uses your existing DUALSHOCK 4 controller connected via USB. Software required to use this feature can be downloaded right here when the update is released tomorrow.
Other small editions include Dailymotion added as an option when live streaming, and a PSN Status checker located within the systems network settings. All in all, it’s a pretty beefy update, with many of the included changes beings ones that have been frequently requested for many months.
