A man in California decided to gift some food to his neighbors, showing his generosity and loving nature. They were, unfortunately, not home, but their Ring camera managed to capture the moment. The clip was posted online and went viral, and absolutely everyone fell in love with the man, properly named Buddy.
Footage of the act of kindness was shared on TikTok by user megan_catherine24 (Megan). The video shows Buddy walking up to Megan’s house and ringing the doorbell. As previously stated, the residents weren’t home, but they answered remotely regardless.
“Hey Buddy! We actually just left, I’m so sorry,” a woman, possibly Megan, is heard saying.
Buddy, however, told the woman that he had made something for her and that he was going to leave it on the porch. Megan and another lady, touched by his generosity, thanked the man, who then placed the package on the ground.
The lovely man then walked away almost instantly. He was stopped in his tracks, though, as Megan asked him if he wanted something from the grocery store. The California man did the impossible: making himself even more charming.
“No, I’ve gone twice this week. I hope I’m good. But thank you for offering!” the man said.
Finally, Buddy revealed that the mysterious package he left on Megan’s porch was smoked pulled pork. The women were extremely delighted before the video was cut short.
A Neighbor Like Buddy, Reactions
The video garnered close to 50K likes and hundreds of comments. Unanimously, users praised the man’s gesture and were deeply moved by it.
“Why am I tearing up?” one user commented. Another one said, “We need more people in our lives like this.” A third one added, “Great neighbors and neighborhood. That’s why I haven’t moved.”
Ring, the company, even reacted to the video, saying, “This is the sweetest thing ever.”
In a world of angry Karens and neighbors from hell, it’s encouraging to know that there are people like Buddy who would go out of their way to make others happy. Perhaps being like him is the solution to many of our daily dramas and differences. Certainly, some smoked pulled pork couldn’t hurt.
