An Arizona man was filmed speaking out against another man who was allegedly being racist toward a woman at a Costco gas station, who accidentally cut in front of him. The viral video was originally posted to TikTok, where users went to the comments to share their thoughts on the situation. Various users also shared comments about standing up for others.

The video above is shot from the point of view of a woman sitting in the passenger seat of a car at a gas pump inside a gas station. In front of the car, an elderly man and a young woman can be seen talking to one another.

On the video itself, there is text that reads, “I’m so proud of my husband for calling out this racist bully yelling at a young girl at Costco gas station. She accidentally cut in front of him and he was bullying her and then asked her what ‘country’ she’s from 😡 that’s when my husband lost his shi.”

Within the United States, there has been heightened tension within communities of Spanish speakers and people of color, especially concerning the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, also known as ICE. There have even been demonstrations across the country in which attendees are starkly anti-ICE.

Reactions to Man Standing Up for Woman at an Arizona Costco Gas Station

Users shared their opinion on the situation within the comments, with many praising the man for his actions. One commenter wrote, “He was not expecting anybody to come to her defense, and he sure was surprise when your husband called him out on his shit. Good for him. Keep sticking up for people. We can’t let hate win🫶🏻.”

A comment shifted the focus a bit to the likely source of the ‘bullying,’ saying, “Normalize calling them out—unacceptable behavior that Trump has normalized.”

The video is gaining traction primarily due to the man’s immediate response to discovering that the elderly gentleman was racist. After a comment that cannot be heard towards the end of the video was made by the elderly man, the other man can be heard shouting, “Oh, now you’re a racist. You probably voted for Trump, you [expletive] fat old white man.”

A follow-up has since been posted by the man who spoke up, answering a few questions that other commenters had concerning the events.

However, as the original video continues to circulate, it is unclear if either Costco or the elderly man has seen or commented on it.
