Have you ever heard about the phrase, “live and let live?” Well, it seems that some Karens, especially those of the racist kind, don’t know what that means because they are always going out of their way to make someone’s day miserable. An example of this happened not long ago in Ventura, California, where a racist Karen approached a woman who was waving a Mexican flag outside of a business. Fortunately, the lady with the flag didn’t have enough patience and sent this annoying Karen back home.
The clip comes from the r/PublicFreakout subreddit, where we can observe yet another racist Karen in action. This woman approaches a lady who is waving a Mexican flag outside of what clearly seems to be a Latin American business. This Karen approaches the woman and starts asking her why she has a Mexican flag outside, in America. However, the harasser doesn’t ask nicely, because the first thing you can hear is, “I said, why the [expletive] are you flying a Mexican flag in America?” Naturally, the lady, who keeps her composure throughout most of the exchange, says, “Because it’s what I want to do.”
The annoying Karen continues harassing the woman, saying, “But you live in America.” And then continues to push the lady, saying that flying a foreign flag in America matters. However, the one with the flag replies, “You really went out of your way to come say this right now?” To which the Karen says, “Yes, because I want to know.”
At this point, the woman with the flag gets fed up with the Karen and says, “You’re not worth my time.” Ironically, the harasser then asks if the woman isn’t “up for a discussion,” trying to play it cool as if she hadn’t been rude before. But soon after, the flag-waving lady asks her to leave. Since the Karen doesn’t do so, the woman starts screaming, “Viva Mexico!” which makes the Karen finally leave, but before flipping everyone off as she enters her vehicle.
As expected, a lot of people had some facepalm-inducing moments after watching this racist Karen and decided to share their thoughts on the original post.
“It must be a misery to go through life like this.” One user commented.
“Wait until she finds out that California used to be a PART OF MEXICO.” Another user commented.
Fortunately, the situation didn’t escalate, but that doesn’t mean it was a good outcome. In the end, this Karen ruined the woman’s day by being annoying and racist. We can only hope for the day these people stop harassing others, but, judging by how things are going in the country, they’ll only start running more rampant than ever.
