Racism has been a widespread problem in America for the longest time, and a recent viral video shows that people of color sometimes cannot even walk the streets of Los Angeles, California, without being harassed by deranged, racist people. A recent video depicts a homeless woman verbally harassing a Latina woman and threatening to kill her baby, something that sparked outrage among online viewers.
While it’s not possible to see exactly how the violent incident started, the short video showcases a white homeless woman walking around the streets of LA shouting at the person recording the moment. She screams: “I’ll decapitate your *expletive* innocent, you wetback *expletive*, you are not pretty enough to have a club.”
The violent outburst irritates the mother, who decides to lash out at the racist homeless woman. She starts to curse and follow her around, asking: “who the *expletive* you think you are talking to?” The racist woman, who initially seemed very violent, gets visibly scared during the altercation, trying to run away, and she’s nearly hit by a bus as she tries to cross the street.
While it’s hard to confirm much of what triggered the incident from the short clip, the woman verbally attacked in the streets of Los Angeles seems to be called Stephanie, who describes herself as a Latina activist, independent reporter, and content creator on social media. The homeless woman’s identity is unknown.
People are Outraged After Racist Verbal Attack in California
Online viewers were horrified by the verbal attack, especially because it was focused on a baby and involved racism. It was seen as an unhinged reaction, no matter what provoked the fight. An angered person said: “Why are white supremacists always so methed up?”
Most folks praised Stephanie’s actions, saying that “you have to out-crazy them and assert dominance,” applauding her for the courage of standing up for her child: “Mama bear does not play.” However, others pointed out that it can be very dangerous to face enraged homeless people, especially if they have used drugs, as she could have easily been hurt.
That’s why despite the mother’s brave reaction, some people thought it was not a good idea to act as she did: “Aggressively approaching a mentally unstable person who just threatened to decapitate your baby is an interesting choice.” Hopefully, California will be a safer place for people of color in the future, but that unfortunately does not seem entirely possible at the moment.
