Threatening people with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, appears to be getting more common these days. One Karen from Las Vegas, Nevada, even got a little too creative with her threats and harassment, as she turned it into a rap song, voicing out just how much she doesn’t like Hispanic people in the US. The worrying part here is that all this started when the Hispanic workers merely parked next to her spot.
The incident occurred early in December at the Sierra Vista Apartments in Las Vegas. Witnesses say a group of Hispanic workers parked their vehicle next to the woman’s red sedan, which somehow riled her up. The woman then supposedly confronted the Hispanic workers and broke out into a song about how “It’s not just white people who voted for Trump to get y’all outta here.” Here’s footage of the incident:
The video starts with the woman already rapping her xenophobic song, “I said ICE is on your [expletive] like [expletive] white is on [expletive] rice baby. It wasn’t just white folks that want ya’ll gone, we want ya’ll the [expletive] outta here. I said rapido, back to Mexico!” The Hispanic workers then responded to her with “You’re just being racist,” after the woman kept reiterating her opinions.
When the Hispanic workers asked, “What’s the issue?” and why the woman didn’t want them there, the woman refused to answer sensibly and just kept repeating her slogan of “Mexico rapido.” At the end of the video, the woman further threatened the Hispanic workers with violence, though the video was cut afterward. It’s not clear whether the woman knows the immigration status of the workers or not, though she seems to assume that they’re illegal based on their appearance.
People Online are Pointing Out the Irony
Right away, the comments have brought attention to how the Trump administration delivered a racist tirade against Black people, namely Somali immigrants in the state of Minnesota, followed by an ICE crackdown on the state. Some couldn’t help but joke about the woman’s lack of awareness, “This is like a lobster in the tank mocking the crab about to be fried.”
“Republicans don’t want her in this country either. the only difference, they can’t deport her,” according to a commenter, regarding the rapping racist woman. Of course, those who remember the history of the US have also argued the following, “A country that doesn’t want you here? Did she forget her history and the fact that once they figure out how to kick her out too, it’ll take nothing but two seconds?”
Sadly, this wouldn’t be the first time a Person of Color threatened another Person of Color with anti-immigration hatred. It has been happening all over the US, even in supermarkets and restaurants. Thankfully, not all People of Color share the same sentiment or worldview, at least according to a feisty commenter, “I said it once and I’m going to say it again, had I walked past ole girl sing this 🐂 💩, she and I would be cussing each other out. I don’t play that! Trump hates her dumb, Black [expletive] too!!”
