In this day and age, cross-play and cross-progression are something that most multiplayer games should have. Thankfully, the majority of new games are implementing that already. One of the companies that have done it successfully since the beginning is Epic Games with Fortnite. Now, another famous multiplayer game joins the fray. The famous co-op shooter Rainbow Six Siege game is adding cross-play and cross-progression features. While on PC, players can already enjoy this, now, console players won’t have to wait. With the recent season announcement, we have official confirmation on this. This December, everyone will be able to try the new Rainbow Six Siege console cross-play feature.
Rainbow Six Siege Console Cross-Play arrives on December 6
During the new season live stream, we got several announcements. One of the biggest ones is definitely the arrival of cross-progression and cross-play in the co-op Rainbow Six Siege game. This is something that players have asked for a long time. Now, this system will pool players together from PlayStation and Xbox consoles. According to the developers, this will shorten the wait times for matches. So, as always, this is something great. The Rainbow Six Siege console cross-play features will be enabled by default. Yet, you can also configure it if you want to, depending on your preferences.

We can say that this update was long due. The game was released back in 2015, and PC cross-play was enabled in 2021. As you can see, the wait was quite long for console players. While the game is still perfectly playable, it is always great to find a match faster, especially in multiplayer games. Beyond the Rainbow Six Siege console cross-play update, there are a lot more things. There is also a new battle pass progression system and a new operation. All of these things arrive this December 6. Rainbow Six Siege is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
