You played the hell out of it on your PS4 and Xbox One – but now you can play the hell out of Rainbow Six Siege some more on your new PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Ubisoft has recently announced that the popular multiplayer shooter is now available on Sony and Microsoft’s next-gen consoles. And the best thing about this? If you already own a copy of Rainbow Six Siege on either the PS4 or Xbox One, you can get it at no additional cost on your console of choice’s successor.

This means if you have Siege on the PS4, you can get it for free on PS5. And all the while, you can experience console cross-play, allowing you to tactically outmaneuver other players regardless of their console. The difference is, you’ll be playing in 4K and 120 FPS with render scaling.

In addition to this, Ubisoft are also releasing Operation Neon Dawn on next-gen consoles, the final season of Rainbow Six Siege Year 5. This season introduces Aruni, a brand new operator with exclusive abilities, the rework of the Skyscraper map and new accessibility features.

Aruni comes equipped with a special gadget known as the Surya Gate. This handy device allows her to deploy laser gates on walls, hatches, doors and windows. The gate acts as an obstacle that damages all drones, projectiles, and enemy Operators that pass through it.

Meanwhile, the re-imagined Skyscraper map offers numerous changes to improve gameplay on the map. The first lowers the number of balconies to drive Attackers inside. Secondly, there’s a new rotation between the two sides of the building on the second floor. Lastly, the bombsites have been balanced to make things more competitive.

Operation Neon Dawn also coincides with the launch of the Sixth Guardian program. Here, certain season bundles are dedicated to different charities. Players of Rainbow Six Siege can purchase a bundle containing a uniform, weapon skin, charm and headgear for Doc. And the bonus to all this? One hundred per cent of NET proceeds are donated to the AbleGamers charity (minimum of $6 USD per bundle sold).

AbleGamers is a US-based nonprofit organisation that supports disabled players by giving them the tools they need to enjoy gaming. The charity’s goal is to promote inclusion in the gaming industry.
