One thing I’ve been hearing a lot lately is “Where’s our next Splinter Cell game?”. The series was incredibly popular as a stealth series and fans have been wanting more. It’s a shame that Ubisoft hasn’t granted people their wishes, but today’s news may give them some form of hope. In a teaser on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel for Rainbow Six Siege, the team teased the return of Sam Fisher as one of the next operatives. He would arrive in the upcoming Operation Shadow Legacy update. You can find said teaser below, in all its glory.

The teaser is primarily narrated by Sam himself, saying “You should know better than to write me off”. We then see his new model, the man looking more grizzled than ever. He’s ditched his classic stealth suit for something more casual and seems to have grown a bigger beard since then. Just like his character in the game, Sam Fisher looks like he’s ready to tear the competition apart in Rainbow Six Siege. We don’t know much about his abilities yet, but it looks like he could gain night vision of sorts. How this would be used in gameplay is unknown at this time, but we have plenty of time to speculate.

Sam Fisher, also known through the trailer as Zero, joins Rainbow Six Siege with the upcoming Operation Shadow Legacy. You can expect a full reveal of everything coming on Sunday, August 16th at 2 PM EDT. Along with Sam Fisher, the roadmap promises a few other things. We’ll be getting some core gameplay changes and reworks, those of which have yet to be seen. We’re also going to see a rework of Skyscraper, a new event, and a fresh battle pass. This will be one hefty update for Rainbow Six Siege, and one that hopefully holds up to Sam Fisher’s legacy.

Rainbow Six Siege is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. I’d love to hear your thoughts though. Is Sam Fisher’s entry into Rainbow Six Siege enough to hold you over? When do you think Ubisoft will finally announce another Splinter Cell game? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
