Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is now on PC and is Steam Deck verified. Insomniac Games confirmed the news yesterday ahead of today’s PC port, which was a collaboration with Nixxes Software. This continues the impressive nature of Valve’s device, which has been able to play the most groundbreaking AAA games, like The Last of Us Part 1, Diablo 4, and more.

When it was released on the PS5 in 2021, it was thought that the latest installment of Insomniac’s flagship franchise would be unavailable to other platforms due to the SSD. When the specs were revealed, it showed how optimized the PC port was going to be due to the minimum requirements not requiring an SSD. While the recommended specs do require an SSD, it continues to prove how Nixxes Software is one of the best studios at porting major releases. The studio has also been responsible for other ports like the impressive PC versions of Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both of the Insomniac Spider-Man games are Steam Deck verified.

The power of the Steam Deck and its battery life may not let you enjoy everything from the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC port, but you will get a handheld taste of what Insomniac crafted. For your sessions on PC, you will get all kinds of special features. They include enhanced ray tracing, DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, NVIDIA DLAA, ultra-wide support for 21:9, 32.9, and 48:9, and DualSense compatibility.

Insomniac Games has become a standout studio in this latest generation. Between getting Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC and Steam Deck and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming out on the PS5 in October, 2023 is a big year for the studio. The future looks busier with other AAA releases. The developer is making Wolverine and possibly an unannounced game.
