Maybe third time’s the charm for Reba McEntire, who knows? She says she’s committed to her boyfriend of four years, actor Rex Linn, despite having a history of divorce. Although marriage didn’t work out for her the first two times, McEntire has revealed that she would happily accept Linn’s proposal, if he felt so inclined.
“I’m truly committed to Rex. So if that’s something he feels totally strong about, that’s fine with me,” the country superstar, 69, told E! News‘ Francesca Amikern. “He’s never been married before. So if he wants to experience that, I’m OK with that.”
McEntire and Linn Reconnected After Almost Thirty Years
McEntire first met Linn on the set of The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw in 1991, but they didn’t pursue a romantic relationship until McEntire guest-starred as June on Young Sheldon. Linn already played a recurring role as the principal of Sheldon’s high school, so once McEntire’s scenes had wrapped filming, Linn asked her out on a date.
In 1976, McEntire married her first husband, Charlie Battles, with whom she shared a ranch in Oklahoma. After 12 years, McEntire divorced Battles to pursue her singing career.
In 1989, just two years after divorcing Battles, Reba married her manager at the time, Narvel Blackstock. Through her marriage to Blackstock, McEntire gained three stepchildren, Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon. She also gave birth to a son, Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock, in 1990. After 26 years of marriage, McEntire and Blackstock amicably split. She remains close with the Blackstocks and considers her stepchildren’s kids to be her grandchildren.
Brandon Blackstock would go on to marry Kelly Clarkson, with whom Reba is close friends, and she considers their son and daughter part of her inner circle.
In 2017, McEntire briefly dated Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo, claiming to be in love with him. The couple split six months later.
