Red, White & Royal Blue is being adapted into a same-sex rom-com by Amazon Studios, starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine. It’s a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Casey McQuiston. The story centers around the heir to an American presidency who starts a romance with a British royal. Clifton Collins Jr., Stephen Fry, and Sarah Shahi are among the cast for the Amazon same-sex rom-com. Berlanti/Schechter Films is producing Red, White & Royal Blue. It starts filming later this month in the United Kingdom. McQuiston has expressed their excitement to see their book turned into a movie and Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine taking on the lead roles. Michael McGrath, along with López and McQuiston, is an executive producer. Ted Malawer wrote an earlier draft of the script. Matthew López is writing the script for the same-sex rom-com and directing it.
Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine May Be Familiar Faces
Most recently Nicholas Galitzine starred in the Amazon film Cinderella opposite Camilla Cabello. Taylor Zakhar Perez made headlines after starring in Kissing Booth 2 and the HBO Max original series Minx. Perez will also star in the Prime Original 1Up. Galitzine will play the lead in the Netflix film Purple Hearts. He previously starred in the films Handsome Devil and High Strung. Taylor Zakhar Perez will play the Mexican-American character Alex Claremont-Diaz, and Nicholas Galitzine will play Prince Henry in Red, White & Royal Blue. Alex and Prince Henry have a long-running feud that turns into romance. The Amazon Studios same-sex rom-com starts with a feud that turns into a fake friendship that turns into something else entirely. It has all the makings of an endearing love story. The same-sex rom-com Red, White & Royal Blue will premier on Amazon Prime in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
