It’s no longer news that tennis champs Reilly and Venus have a thing going in the friendship department. However, considering how frequently they hang out, just how deep this closeness runs remains disputed. In fact, the duo have stirred dating rumors for years despite their subtle attempts to dispel these speculations on occasions. Their pairing up at the Milan Fashion Week once again resurrected the claims of a romantic connection between the duo, which neither is ready to address.
To wrap up their Milan Fashion Week experience, Venus William hit Instagram with a photo dump featuring some of her favorite companions, including Reilly Opelka. In a post shared on Tuesday, the 44 year old graced the J.W Anderson SS25 show in a red oversized jacket worn over a white collared shirt. She paired her outfit with a black bag and matching slippers.
One of the snaps showed Venus Williams in her leg-flaunting outfit, posing between half-sister Lyndrea Price Imani, and 26-year-old Reilly Opelka. The trio stood tall in the venue, looking all excited as the runway show progressed. Expectedly, Reilly’s presence in another one of Venus’ photos stirred dating speculations. Several fans turned to the comments to probe the former world number one about her relationship with Reilly. Many urged the duo to come clean already as the evidence was glaring.
Venus Williams Told She’s Not Reilly’s Type
As the dating speculations flooded the comment section, one fan shared a scathing comment suggesting Venus Williams was not Reilly’s type, writing,
“They’re just friends though. She’s not his type if u get what I mean!!”
Picking up on the demeaning undertone, another fan quickly hit back at the commenter, demanding for some clarification. The fan wrote,
“I’m not sure I get what you mean. Is it age, ethnicity, shoe size, or something else?”
While the counterattack seemed to shut down the troll for good, Reilly Opelka’s comment in another post ultimately countered any chances of further spiteful insinuations. In the post, Venus shared photos of herself and sisters Serena Williams and Lyndrea Imani enjoying their moment at the Milan Fashion Week Gucci SS25 show.
The snaps of the tennis great evidently left Reilly smitten as he slid into the comment section to react with a simple “Wow.” His one-word comment left fans excited, seemingly confirming he indeed had a thing for Venus Williams. The nature of his interest though remains to be told.
