Reports Indicate Teenage Girls Are Being Isolated for Unknown Reasons in Dilley ICE Detention Camp in Texas: ‘Incredibly Concerning’

No one can reach them

The terrible conditions faced by immigrants detained at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in San Antonio, Texas, have been widely reported recently. Now, even more disturbing allegations have surfaced, with new reports indicating that teenage girls are being kept in isolation in so-called “Blue Butterfly Zones.”

Reports are now emerging from inside the Dilley, TX ICE Family Concentration Camp of areas called “Blue Butterfly Zones” where the camp’s young girls are being kept separated/isolated for unknown reasons (2/22/26)

Activist Jessica Craven recently described how she learned about this troubling development in Dilley. Through text messages exchanged with a journalist covering the situation, she became aware of so-called “blue zones,” areas where teenage girls are reportedly taken and kept out of view. In these sections, girls under 18 are allegedly housed together without outside oversight and are inaccessible to anyone beyond facility staff, including family members and politicians.

According to Craven, one of her sources later confirmed with Dilley’s authorities that the zones do exist. However, no one explained why the girls detained there can’t be seen. They are “basically disappeared into a black hole,” in a place which is already “filled with systemic abuse of children.”

At the end of the video, the activist links members of the current federal government to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring, suggesting that sexual abuse could be connected to the reason for isolating these girls. Craven acknowledges that she does not have “a tremendous amount of information” about this, though, so it’s always best to take these concerning reports with a grain of salt.

People Are Concerned About the Teen Girls’ Well-Being

On social media, most folks were horrified by the so-called Blue Butterfly Zones. Some believed that “the fact that nobody can reach these girls” is “incredibly concerning” and that locals should unite to pressure the government for more clarity regarding this situation.

Some people also discussed the names of these special zones. While some folks associated the “butterfly imagery” with “child sex trafficking rings,” others said that these names “are meant to conjure positive feelings for the kids,” and are pretty standard in locations holding children and teens.

While many social media users expressed concern that staff could be covering up possible sexual assault at Dilley, there is no confirmed evidence to support those claims. Given the lack of concrete information, much of the discussion remained speculative.

Dilley ICE Detention Center in Texas is at the Center of Many Controversies

This is just the latest controversy surrounding Dilley Immigration Processing Center, a location with such terrible conditions that it has been called a “concentration camp” by many people.

In addition to reports that staff provided children with moldy or rotten food, new allegations indicate that facility personnel have begun confiscating materials created by detainees that were intended to be sent outside, including children’s drawings and letters. It remains to be seen how the authorities will deal with what’s happening at Dilly, but hopefully, they will address it soon.
