Elon Musk earns the wrath of Republicans and Democrats alike following his blatant attempt to influence the Wisconsin Supreme Court election with a $1 million voter incentive. The DOGE frontman made a brazen move this week, announcing a $1 million cash reward to a Green Bay voter just days before the highly-contested state Supreme Court election. Donald Trump and his billionaire wingman have made clear their stance in the elections, rooting for the Republican-backed Brad Schimel in the non-partisan race.
The $1 million incentive is part of the movement by his political action committee, America PAC, to offer $100 to registered voters who sign a petition opposing “activist judges,” with no intent of influencing their votes or verifying who they cast the ballot for. While Musk has clarified that the monetary incentives were strictly to convince voters to sign the America PAC petition, with one lucky signatory winning the grand prize, the opposition party has since ruled the move as a corrupt practice akin to vote-buying.
Opposition Reacts to Elon Musk’s $1M Voter Reward to Sign Petition

The campaign for Susan Crawford, the Democrat-backed candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court position, has since slammed Elon Musk’s $1 million cash reward, as well as his other monetary incentives to stir voters. In a statement, the team described Musk’s move as an attempt to “illegally buy influence on the court,” knowing his car company Tesla has a pending lawsuit in the state that would eventually require a final verdict from the court. Crawford’s representative describes Musk’s move as “corrupt,” “extreme,” and “disgraceful to our state and judiciary.”
Thousands of Americans, Republicans and Democrats alike, agreed with this assertion, turning to social media to voice their own thoughts. Comments blasting Elon Musk and his $1 million dollar Wisconsin Supreme Court voter “bribe” have since flooded various social platforms, pointing out everything wrong with the monetary incentive. An Angry American fired on Reddit,
“It really is amazing how a bribe somehow isn’t a bribe if the mount is large enough.”
Another wrote,
“In [Elon’s] view, what makes America Great is that you can buy votes. Buy votes and allocate to yourself millions in grant money after shutting down entire federal agencies to ‘save’ money. What a country! It’s every mega-grifter’s dream! Heaven for con artists.”
A third fired,
“It shouldn’t be surprising. The idea that ‘nobody is above the law’ should be drowned, buried, excavated, cremated, and the ashes should be wiped over the ‘EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER THE LAW’ farce that sits above the Supreme Court Building.”
The netizen pointed out that the country operated a two-tiered justice system, in which those with power could thrive, while those without power get “f*ucked.” Many users agreed, citing Elon Musk’s “continuous abuse of power” without repercussions, just like his latest voter-influencing stunt in Wisconsin.
Americans Rally Against Musk Following Unethical Cash Reward

Netizens believe that Musk’s repeated flaunting of wealth throughout the US presidential elections, and now the State’s Supreme Court race, has only proved it was never a “partisan war,” but a “class war” for the average American. Redditors hoped more people would come to realize this, and kick against Musk’s “corrupt” agenda regardless of party. One comment read,
“It is my hope that even republicans would be against this. In the long run, this will ultimately end up bad for them even if they think it’s good right now. It’s a dangerous game and a dangerous way to get a win that wasn’t actually deserved or earned. “
Another user wrote in response,
“Us non-insane ones are.”
A third Redditor commented,
“We can all see it’s plainly corrupt, and it’s not just ‘the opposition’ saying that.”
Elon Musk’s monetary reward to the lucky Green Bay winner ahead of the Wisconsin April 1 elections comes barely six months after he used a similar tactic to incite voters ahead of the presidential elections. At the time, the billionaire promised to churn out $1 million/day to voters in Wisconsin, Philadelphia, and five other States, who signed a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments.
Philadelphia’s district attorney took legal action in an attempt to stop Musk’s monetary rewards under Pennsylvania law. However, a judge dismissed the petition, ruling that prosecutors failed to prove how the tech mogul’s cash rewards constituted “illegal lottery.” Ultimately, the paid petition signing continued through Election Day, having been deemed not to violate the 18 U.S. Code § 597 – Expenditures to influence voting.
