Lakeside Settlement Area Guide for Resident Evil 4
As you enter the last portion of Chapter One, be mindful of the enemies and traps that seem to always be hidden and lurking, waiting for the right moment to catch you off guard. Keeping your wits about you in this portion of the Chapter will be very important and useful.
Head through the tunnel and toward the Lakeside Settlement area after you make it out of the Farm.
As you approach the settlement, don’t leave the tunnel just yet. Right in front of you, there will be a Ganado waiting for your arrival with Dynamite in tow. When he notices you, he will light sticks of dynamite, then throw them at you, causing loads of damage. The best thing to do here is to sit back and try to get as many headshots in as you can with your pistol before you take on the rest of the enemies, who won’t be too far off.
Once you’ve taken down all the Ganado in your immediate area, head out of the tunnel and to the left into the building closest to you.
As you enter the building, you will hear a beeping sound. This is a Tripwire Mine. Crouch and disarm the mine, or leave it up to try to lure enemies into their own traps.
Before you leave the building, keep a careful eye on the ground, where there will be a couple of Bear Traps as well.
Exit the building and take out the Ganado in your path as you make your way to the large building where the first Dynamite-wielding Ganado was and make your way through it, looting everything you see.
Outside, there will be two more Dynamite Ganado. In order to avoid them, head down the path farther to the next building. This will be a large house with a lock on it. Break the lock and head inside.
Once you’re inside the building, avoid the Tripwire Mine. This one is down low enough that you will need to disarm it in order to pass by. You should notice a strange banging noise, and investigate further.
Head down the hallway and loot the cupboards, along with the creepy photograph on the table.
Ahead of you, you should see a large shelf up against the wall that is painted yellow. Using the button, you are prompted with, push it to the side to reveal a hallway for you to explore.
Farther into the hallway, you will find a Ganado beating on the floor with an axe. Take him out quickly and approach his body.
There will be a trap door near him that is boarded up. Break the doors and jump down into the tunnel.
You will find a man wriggling around in a large bag. When you save him, a cutscene will be triggered, ending Chapter One.
