The Star Wars Jedi games have been quite successful, especially after all the updates, so the series getting a third entry is pretty much a no-brainer. But this is the first time we’ve gotten some news regarding the future of the series in the form of a Star Wars job listing from Respawn. The company is looking for a writer that is fluent in Star Wars. This is likely for a Star Wars Jedi sequel, or a DLC for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Stig Asmussen, the director of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, said that he wanted the games to be a trilogy, making Cal Kestis’ story a three-part series. So, it is quite sensible to assume that a third game is likely on the way.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Sequel Hiring Details
The job opening at Respawn isn’t very detailed, but it does give a handful of hints that point toward a Star Wars Jedi sequel or DLC. Either is not only possible but very probable considering the success the franchise has seen so far. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor surpassed its predecessor unexpectedly fast, so the fanbase is growing rapidly.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a big success at launch and is considered to be a contender for Game of the Year. But even though a Star Wars Jedi sequel makes a lot of sense, let’s not forget that Respawn is also working on other games based on the Star Wars IP. One of these is a shooter and the other is a strategy game. With that being said, the role set out in the job posting does make a Star Wars Jedi game more likely since it is really focused on narrative.
