It’s pretty well-known universally that there are some allergies that are really not meant to be played around with because of how fatal they can become. For many people, this allergy is to tree nuts. Unfortunately, for one South Carolina woman, she had to discover on her own that the restaurant she was dining in had reportedly served her a dish with tree nuts.
What’s even worse than that is that she had allegedly told the restaurant three times that she had this allergy before the food had even been served. Even though she is clearly alive to tell the story, the journey to getting to this point was filled with terrifying symptoms and a visit to the hospital.
This video was posted to the social media platform TikTok by user @lulu.broski, which belongs to a woman named Lulu who typically posts about her daily life. In the video, Lulu recounts a visit to a restaurant in Greenville, South Carolina, where she decided to have hummus that, unfortunately, had walnuts in it. She alleges to have notified the staff about her allergy two times before finally being told after the third.
It appears that Lulu was by herself during this situation because she decided to then drive herself to the hospital instead of administering her EpiPen. After giving her medication to assist with her allergy, she didn’t feel any better, and her throat allegedly closed up, preventing her from being able to breathe.
Fortunately, doctors were able to give her a breathing tube as well as two EpiPens that they administered to each leg to help regulate her. She even explains that the doctor who was attending to her admitted that he allegedly had never seen a reaction like this in his career. However, things didn’t end there as she started to get hives that thrashed through her body. It wasn’t until she was treated for this that she finally started to come down from it.
South Carolina Woman Hospitalized After Restaurant Reportedly Ignored Tree Nut Allergy
The comments filled up with people who were shocked to discover that this happened to Lulu, with one person even commenting with, “Send the restaurant the bill 💰. Shouldn’t have to clarify three times to make sure they take an allergy seriously :/” These allergies are no joke, and can escalate very quickly without the proper care.
Hopefully, this is something she never needs to deal with again, especially if this reaction was far worse than any other one she’s had in the past.
