It’s typical for groups that go to restaurants to celebrate a birthday to cut and share a cake. It’s also typical for friend groups to bring their own cake for a variety of reasons. How would you feel if you had just spent over five hours working on a cake just for the restaurant you are celebrating at to eat half of it? One New York City TikToker explains his story.
A TikToker by the name of ryannordheimer, known as Ryan Nordheimer, posted about how a New York City restaurant ate half of a birthday cake that he had made for his friend’s celebration. He prefaced the story by explaining that the cake took about five to six hours to create and is valued at several hundreds of dollars. Then, he goes on to explain that he had spoken with the restaurant in advance to discuss the presentation and cutting of the cake.
However, things took a turn just after the candles were blown out and the cake was taken to the kitchen. When the cake slices arrived at the table, they were incredibly small. So small, in fact, that Ryan asked their waiter for the remainder of the cake to take home. To their shock, they were told no more cake was left.
The replies are filled with commentators calling out the location, which is presumed to be Quality Meats. Some people even said that the cake was probably being eaten far before being served to the table,
Personally, I agree with them and definitely think that the staff was digging in way before the dinner even started. Other commentators were a little more lighthearted about the situation,
Regardless, I’d like to think that the location has privately apologized to Ryan. I also hope that they provided some way to make up for the entire situation.
