Hugh Grant has been forced to look back at his romantic escapades after a Real Housewife kissed and told all. The rom-com leading man recently cleared the air about allegedly making out with Luann de Lesseps of Real Housewives of New York.
Grant took to X to tell his side of the story. Alongside a screenshot of an article detailing the RHONY alum’s remarks about their encounter, the Wonka star wrote:
“Steady on. I do remember meeting a charming RHNY in a restaurant, but I’d like to stress it was about 15 years ago. I don’t recall shots or kissing but her memory might be better than mine.”
Although the British actor didn’t mention Lesseps’s name in his cheeky response, his message was well-received. Despite Grant’s lack of recollection, the reality star didn’t take it personally. Instead, she replied to the actor’s post with a hilarious meme of her wiping away tears while laughing. “Literally crying laughing,” the caption read. Lesseps’ playful response had fans hailing her.
“He’s being a gentleman. He doesn’t kiss and tell,” wrote one follower, while another panned, “clearly the one that got away!!!” A third comment noted that Grant “was so lucky” to have made out with the reality star.

Luann de Lesseps opened up about her makeout session with the Love Actually actor during an interview with TooFab. “A girlfriend of mine called me and was like, Hugh Grant is at Pierre’s [a restaurant in the Hamptons]. I said, ‘I’ll be right over.’ I called and said, ‘Get the table right next to Hugh Grant,'” she recalled.
The TV personality explained that her brother was visiting at the time, so he accompanied her to the restaurant. “I said, ‘Sit me right behind him.’ I pushed out my chair real fast, and I bumped into him — flirting 101 — I bumped into him and said, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry,'” she explained of their interaction. Luckily, things didn’t get awkward because they had a mutual friend in Andy Cohen.
I go, ‘I’m so sorry. Can I buy you a shot I feel terrible.’ He goes, ‘Okay, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me.’ Before you know it, we are taking shots and making out … heavily at the table!”
She added, “My brother was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re making out with Hugh Grant’, and I was like, ‘Neither can I.'” Although Lesseps was able to enjoy a steamy moment with the iconic English actor, she couldn’t enjoy the same privilege with Gerard Butler. She described the Scottish actor as the one who got away. “I got into an elevator with him [Butler.] I tried my best but he had a girlfriend who was there. You can only try,” she recalled.
