Last week, Disney fired Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn for a list of insensitive tweets he made in the past. So is it simply a coincidence that Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson just deleted over 1,000 of his own past tweets?
This news came about after YouTuber John talks Star War revealed that Johnson deleted over 20,000 tweets since Disney fired James Gunn. An update soon followed via Twitter user 30YearOldBoomer, who posted a Twitter stat summary showing that Johnson has deleted 1038 tweets in the last two days.

While it isn’t entirely reassuring to see Johnson deleting so many Tweets at once, especially given the current situation with Gunn, there have been no damning Tweets found. If there were any though, you can be sure Twitter users will not stop until they find them, as they are still available using the Wayback Archiving Machine.
Johnson is still currently very active on Twitter, while Gunn has remained silent since his firing. Many of Gunn’s co-workers and fellow Hollywood personalities have come to his defense since then though, including Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista.
What will you do when the #cybernazis attack you? Who will stand by you? Who will cowardly distance themselves from you? Who will punish you for horrible JOKES in the past instead of defending you for INSPIRING millions? MILLIONS!!! #Redemption #injustice @JamesGunn

Fans have also launched a petition to rehire Gunn, one which currently has over 275,000 signatures.
