Rise of the Tomb Raider continues to get bigger and better as the game gets a new Endurance mode. Microsoft is calling this mode the “ultimate woman-versus-wild test” and the description for the mode makes it sound challenging.
“Fire takes fuel, cold kills the unprepared, food restores health, but everything must be caught, collected, or crafted. You start with nothing and must find everything. Challenge friends to your longest survival run and battle to the top of the leaderboards for the title of Ultimate Survivor,” reads the official description posted on Xbox.com.
Players who pick up the Endurance Mode DLC will be receiving a new outfit and weapon for Lara.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will also be getting, even more, expansions in 2016. Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch (early 2016) and Cold Darkness Awakened (2016) are expansions that are included in the $30 DLC pass, but they will be able to be purchased individually.
Endurance Mode is included in the DLC pass, but can also be purchased for $9.99.
Rise of the Tomb Raider launched on November 10 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. According to Microsoft, the game has “done well.” However, no official sales numbers have been released. The game will be coming to the PC and Playstation 4 in 2016, so the numbers will presumably be going up to warrant a third outing for the young Lara Croft.
