Square Enix announced today that Rise of the Tomb Raider, the follow up to the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider, will be made available on Windows 10 and Steam in early 2016. The Playstation 4 version will be released in late 2016.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 for one year. Crystal Dynamics, a studio that is part of the Square Enix family, will also be developing both the PC and Playstation 4 ports. This means that players can expect the same quality game across all three platforms.
In the critically acclaimed Tomb Raider, Lara Croft survived a harrowing experience only to be discredited as part of a cover up. Now, after uncovering an ancient mystery, Lara must explore the most treacherous and remote regions of Siberia to find the secret of immortality before a ruthless organization known as Trinity. Lara must use her wits and survival skills, form new alliances, and ultimately embrace her destiny as the Tomb Raider.
In Rise of the Tomb Raider, players will experience high-octane action moments, conquer beautifully hostile environments, engage in brutal guerrilla combat, and explore awe-inspiring deadly tombs in the evolution of survival action. Rise of the Tomb Raider will see Lara become more than a survivor as she embarks on her first major tomb raiding adventure.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch first on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10, 2015.
