Rita Ora is on the receiving end of the internet’s wrath after what many labeled a despicable performance. Over the weekend, the British singer took the stage at The Mighty Hoopla Festival in Brockwell Park, South London. However, what was supposed to be a big show ended up being a laughable disaster when it seemed the songstress didn’t have any fans among the huge crowd.
A viral video from the festival shared on X, depicted the embarrassing moment. Ora was on stage, pumped during her rendition of Anywhere, when she decided to get her fans involved. The 33-year-old approached the crowd to get a lucky fan to sing along to her music, a cappella style. Unfortunately, the decision backfired as no one sang because they didn’t know the words. To make things worse, Ora proceeded to sing the wrong lyrics afterward.
Despite the cringe moment, Ora picked herself back up flawlessly and proceeded to finish the rest of her set excellently. For her performance, The Voice UK coach donned bright yellow latex shorts with a white crop tank top. She paired the ensemble with black lace-up boots and a pair of retro sunglasses.
Rita Ora’s Music Career Painfully Mocked By Fans
Despite the incident being out of Rita Ora’s control, the Internet didn’t hold back on their judgment. One user wrote, “Rita Ora trying to find ANYONE in the front row to sing her song acapella is one the best most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen omg then she sang the wrong song.” Another remarked,
“Rita Ora stays booked and BUSY. But have you ever met a Rita Ora fan? It’s giving money laundering scheme.”
A third netizen added, “Rita Ora deciding to go down into the crowd at @mightyhoopla to get them to help her sing Anywhere and then cutting off anyone who isn’t a good singer. Now she’s complaining that people can’t sing. This is so messy.”
The humiliating moment comes amid anticipation for Ora’s fourth studio album. She spoke about it during the festival, telling The Sun, “The album is going really well. I’m not sure it will be ready for this year though.”
