Meta is focused on improving its game library on the Meta Quest VR headset. The team announced they’re working on a GTA: San Andreas VR Port and Stranger Things VR. According to the official announcement coming from the Roblox team, the game is on the way, and a developer tool for it will be live in a few days. The team is rushing to port Roblox into VR; it’s exciting to guess what kind of experiences will arrive on Meta Quest VR with the thousands of maps available on Roblox. That’s not all; both sides are desire stability, which is the first thing we ask when a game gets ported for VR.
Roblox Officially Hits Meta Quest VR’s Game Library Soon
The announcement was first made on the developer blog of Roblox and briefly explained its plans:
“Traditionally, developing a VR experience required a team that had VR-specific experience and skills. With Roblox, developers will soon be able to publish their existing experiences to support VR with little to no additional coding effort required. This is because Roblox is designed to be universal, allowing the same experiences to run everywhere.”
The good news, the team claims that they don’t even need any special work to port the game with the announcement above. That also means the map creators don’t need extra work on their projects. As the announcement’s further parts say, the team will be dropping a developer tool specially designed for VR. It’s great to know that the maps players already play will work flawlessly on VR. Online game playability is a big expectation from VR headsets, and Meta Quest could achieve a big one with Roblox‘s debut.
The second news Roblox has announced is regarding older players. As kids mostly play the game, the content team had stringent rules to keep children against mature content. Now, Roblox will have another map category for mature rated, and the violence, blood, romantic themes, and alcohol usage maps will be there. The players registered under 17 won’t be able to access those maps, but the parental advisory warning is still recommended.
