You don’t have to be as smart as Aizen to know who the heroes of Bleach are. Even if the Shinigami aren’t as strong in the Roblox spin-off as they are in the anime, they have no trouble stealing the show. Stylish outfits, cool swords, and membership in the Gotei 13? Count us in. The journey from lowly human to Bankai-wielding Soul Reaper is a long one, however. You’ll need to climb the grades and impress a certain someone in Karakura Town if you want to reach your true potential. Here’s what you need to know about Soul Reaper progression in Type Soul.

The ultimate goal of Soul Reaper progression is to get your Bankai in Type Soul. First, you’ll need to die. That’s right: your first step as a human is to perish at the hands of an NPC or another player. As a Lost Soul, you’ll then need to speak with Kisuke to gain membership into the Soul Society. Now that you’re a Soul Reaper, the real work begins. Here’s what you need to do next:

  • Interact with a Mission Board in Karakura Town
  • Take on missions to improve your grade
  • Join a Division to earn Division EXP
  • Meditate three times to enter your Shikai world and interact with your Shikai
  • Meditate a fourth time to battle and defeat your Shikai

Missions aren’t difficult as they mostly consist of battling Hollow NPCs. The Shikai battle can be more difficult, however, so it pays to improve your gear and skills before taking it on. Once you’re Elite Grade and have received your Shikai, you’re ready to pursue Bankai. You’ll need to meet one of the following conditions to progress:

  • 13 raid wins
  • 7 clan wins
  • 20-30 ranked wins

You can check your progress by interacting with the NPC in the Karakura Town warehouse (pictured above). He will deliver the “Unequaled…unrivaled” line when you’re ready to proceed to the next step: acquiring Bankai.

Getting Bankai requires several time-consuming and challenging steps, but it’s an essential part of Soul Reaper progression in Type Soul. Speak with Kisuke Urahara in Karakura Town to kick off that quest. Seeing all the hardship Ichigo endured should’ve been our first clue that Soul Reaper progression would be brutal in Type Soul. Thankfully, grind reduction updates have made it faster than it used to be, so you shouldn’t be stuck at Shikai forever. Once you’ve unlocked your Bankai, go show those pesky Arrancar who’s boss.

Roblox is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Mobile.
